CM Storm DriverOne of the biggest features of the Sentinel Advance is its driverless operation. The mouse contains 64Kb of on board memory which is used to store profiles. This means that you can actually set your profiles up at your home computer and head to an internet cafe or LAN Party, plug the mouse in and have access to your profiles, which are stored in the 64Kb of memory and during normal operations, the driver doesn't need to actually be loaded in order for the mouse to function. The only time the driver needs to be loaded is to change any of the profile settings, macros, or scripts. Let's take a quick look at the software that comes with the Sentinel Advance.
The first screen of the Sentinel driver is the Main Control page. Here is where the user controls the main functions of the mouse such as button assignments, DPI levels, click speeds, button response times, motion sensitivity and USB Polling rates.
Color control is the next screen that is available. In this area is where the user can control the color of the LED, or shut the LEDs off. Also in this location is where the custom logo can up uploaded. The requirements of the logo are a 42px x 42px black and white bitmap. Also the style of the LEDs can be changed here, to an always on, to breathing; the LEDs fade in and out, rapid fire, the front LEDs flash at every mouse click, and you can turn off the LEDs.
The next two pages of the driver software are the Macro page and Script pages. Here's where you can make the mouse really work for you as you can assign a set of keyboard commands to the buttons or record a sequence of commands and assign them to the button. I don't really know much about creating macros or scripts but it looks like it could get pretty complex.
The library page is where you can take the scripts that you have created and load them into the memory of the mouse as well as assign the button to activate the script. This is stored on the internal 64Kb of memory so it will still be assigned when you plug into a different computer.
The final page in the driver is the support page, heres where one can go to hit the online support for the mouse, as well as grabbing the latest driver and firmware for your Sentinel Advance.
