So here's where the OctoShade LED technology comes in. CM's Octoshade technology is used to differentiate one profile from another, which can be helpful depending on the game chosen and the position chosen within the game. For example, in an FPS a sniper may not need the fast twitchy movement of a grunt, so being able to change out profiles on the fly and being able to identify which profile instantly is very important to the gamer and can help increase their scores. Not only does Octoshade useful for profile selection, but as we will see later on in the driver section, aesthetics is an important factor with this mouse as well. Here are the colors that are available. Each of the 5 profiles can be assigned its own color and the LED can be shut off via the driver for those who don't want the LED on.
