While I was at CES 2009, I ran into the Myvu folks and got a chance to take a quick peek at the product. The booth was pretty popular as the people running the booth were inundated by questions, and rightly so. The demo that I got at CES was realistically less than a minute. I knew at that point we had to get these in for review. A few weeks later and I had my hands on a set. Included system components:
The box design in my opinion is pretty much perfect. If you saw this box on the shelf somewhere, you'd know exactly what your getting. The front of the box is very simple. Name of the product and a picture. While the sides and back of the box have specifications and features. Now one thing that I want to point out before we go any further is that the Crystal comes in 3 different flavors. The difference between the 3 is the connection kit that each comes with.
Inside the box you will find two more boxes and a quick start guide. One of the smaller boxes contains the media viewer while the other box includes the standard connections. The standard connections include a the A/Vcables for IPOD Video/Microsoft Zune, Nokia N85, and a cable to go from RCAs to the MyVu. Also included in our package was the IPhone/IPOD cable. A standard USB cable is included to charge the unit. Rather than having a USB cable for charging I would have rather had MyVu include a wall charger which is optional. It takes eight hours to charge the unit using the USB cable while using the wall charger takes about three hours. The battery for the unit lasts about four hours. The quick start guide is sufficient to get going but if you need any more information you can download the user guide from the MyVu website.
