Packaging
The Red Scorpion comes packaged in a box that is made for the retail shelf and without additional protection wouldn't survive the shipping process. The box features a large window in which the fan is visible. The main feature on the back of the box is the specifications of the cooler and the sides contain various images of the cooler and compatibility information. Red scorpion graphics adorn the box from which the cooler get it's name. The packaging does a good job of describing what is in the box and contains all the information needed to answer most questions any consumer would have.
Taking the whole works out of the box shows how carefully packaged the cooler actually is. The fan and the heat sink are packaged in separate foam. This should ensure that the cooler makes it home without any damage. Included in the box is the accessory kit and instructions. The accessory kit includes all items needed for installation. For Intel installation push pin style clips are included and for AMD installations the top clamp is included. Five rubber fan mounts are included, only four are needed and XigmaTek has included an extra. An air deflector and thermal paste round out the accessory kit.
Let's take a closer look.
