CoolerMaster ATCS 840
The case that your computer hardware resides in can tell much about the individual that owns said hardware. Once there was just conformity, beige boxes that were unassuming, no matter what hardware was inside. A few people, which later turned into many, started modifying or "modding" their cases to make them unique and more representative of the hardware inside which helped usher in new case designs. Sure, you can still go purchase a plain ol' beige case, but why?
CoolerMaster is a name that is synonymous with enthusiast computer cooling solutions. Their products include a vast array of computer cases, cooling fans, CPU heatsinks and fan assemblies, and power supplies. CoolerMaster products range from the mainstream to extreme. Not to exclude the OEM market; I recently opened up an old Gateway (circa 1998) low profile desktop and discovered the cooling solution was CoolerMaster. While in the past, CoolerMaster may have taken a back seat to some of the new comers to the cooling scene, recently they have been a hard charger and leading the way once again in thermal management.
The ATCS comes in two color choices: black and silver. Today we reviewed the silver version.
ADVANCED THERMAL COOLING SOLUTION
Here's what CoolerMaster has to say about this budding beauty:
"The ATCS 840 constitutes a classic all-aluminum design that builds on the legacy of the original ATCS design. The aluminum construction not only allows for a lighter weight but complements the thermal design seamlessly with three 230mm fans, dedicated air duct for graphics card cooling and HDD cooling module for superb cooling.
Extra attention was paid to make sure this elegantly designed chassis is not only easy to install but easy to maintain. This includes: slide-out motherboard tray along with cut out CPU access for easy removal, tool-free HDD casing, patented finger pressing 5.25" drive. Lastly, it gives users the freedom to choose any components they desire, as it supports the latest standards such as E-ATX and dual PSUs."
So lets get to it then and see what this beast looks like.
